Customer Reviews

Excellent set
I got this set last year for Christmas and I love it. I've never held such a comfortable knife, and that goes for all of them. Also, they are of great quality. I shopped around for a knife set before settling on this one and I love it! If you are looking for a knife set, I highly recommend this one.

Good for your average home kitchen...
I always read reviews on Amazon before I make a purchase. I am glad that I went with this kife block set by Oxo. The knives are very sharp for your typical home cooking. They are comfortable to hold and seem to be very sturdy. I had read that there are a few empty slots in the block, so I additionally had purchased the 6-in. Chef's knife and the 6 1/2-in. Santoku knife with my order. I placed a pair of kitchen shears that I alread have, in the bottom slot. So, I have a full set of very nice knives. I also purchased the 'Furi Ozitech Diamond Fingers Pro Knife Sharpener' after reading reviews about it. It easy for me to use and works really well on the knives.

VALUE
Great value for the price. Realistically, you are going to pay several, several times more for better quality. These are stamped, but high end stamped, which is probably better than low end forged. Decent block, with room for three more knives not included in the set, but not necessary. Would be excellent for new homeowner or newlyweds who need decent quality knives for daily use, and are not snobby.

The perfect knives
These Oxo knives are wonderful!! I've been cooking for more than 20 years and have tried several knives. These are actually the ones I like the best. They are comfortable in the hand with a contour grip. If you use the sharpening steel as directed, they stay very sharp, be careful. I could not be happier with this purchase and recommend these knives to everyone!!!! Don't look any further, this is a great deal and a great product!!

Excellent set
I am very satified with the Oxo knives. I agree with the reviewer who said the set's only fault is that it is missing the small chef's knife, which I did order to fill one of the empty slots in the block. The scissors slot will accomodate any type of scissors. I use it to hold my kitchen shears. I do hand wash the knives, dry them thoroughly with a dish towel, and return them to the block immediately.
