This adorable Sand and Water Activity Center features wood crafted styling and nature's colors that blend with traditional landscapes in residential outdoor living areas. It's divided into two separate sides -- one for water, the other for sand. It holds up to 20 lbs. of sand and two gallons of water, not included. The eight-piece accessory set includes an umbrella, two bridges, two boats, two pots and one shovel. A durable, one-piece plastic cover keeps the sand clean and dry -- and your little ones, too. Elastic tie-downs on the ends of the lid keep it securely attached. Molded-in roadways on the lid provide an additional play surface. Legs detach so product can be used at ground level. Wish I'd bought this earlier
It's almost too hot in the south right now for an outdoor toy, but I can see that although my timing was off the choice of this sand/water table was a good one. The table arrived in perfect condition, not even a ding on the box. The put together went smoothly. There was one leg-leak issue with the first water fill, however, some applied sealant (that we had on hand) and a double layer of clear packing table has made the table watertight. The umbrella is surprisingly sturdy. I would buy this item again (for the price I paid) in a heartbeat. I noticed that amazon has jacked the price up now and the seller is Target? Perhaps we got the last one?
Sturdy
Read through the reviews for hints about ways to use this sand table. THis is a fun activity center. In our windy area we took the umbrella off completely. It is very heavy when full but wiht a little bit of help you can move it. The thing that struck me about this toy the most is that it is very sturdy. With three kids and several neighborhood kids coming to play this has seen a lot of use and it has lasted a very long time. The colors haven't even faded. Well worth the investment. Enjoy.
Sand + Water = Mud! Recommend for ages 1-8
One question you need to ask is do you want one side sand and one side water, or do you want two sides with mud? You should decide otherwise your kids will decide for you.
Seriously though, we have a 1, 3, and 5 year old and all three enjoy this toy. I'd say that ~8 years might be the upper limit at which point kids might start to get bored...
I'd recommend not filling the sand side up all the way as the kids enjoy it just as much with only an inch of sand. Also you end up buying sand less often this way - they will inevitably empty the sand all over everything.
The one complaint is that the top tends to collect water. It's designed to drain, but the top will sag, particularly when kids like to sit and stand on top. Otherwise very sturdy just like all Step 2 products.

Good quality, good design
Fun toy, good quality and good design. My one wish would be to have a drain on the sand side of the table. Young children don't keep all the water in the water side, so it would be nice to have a drain to remove the water from the sand side.
fun and durable
This table went together easily, is nice and sturdy, and my granddaughters just love it. My daughter loves that she can cover up the whole thing to keep out the elements and the critters.
