As DVD playback made the PlayStation 2 more than just a game machine, hefty multi-media features make the Sony PlayStation 3 an even more versatile home entertainment machine. Features such as video chat, Internet access, digital photo viewing, and digital audio and video will likely make it the central component of your media set-up. Still, it is first and foremost a game console--a powerful one at that. Now you can own this powerful console and start playing the most anticipated game of the year, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, right out of the box!
Under the Hood of the PS3
The PS3 features IBM's "Cell" processor and a co-developed Nvidia graphics processor that makes the system able to perform two trillion calculations per second. That's approximately 320 times more calculations per second than the PS2. Along with the traditional AV and composite connections, it also boasts an HDMI port, which delivers uncompressed, unconverted digital picture and sound to compatible high-definition TV and projectors. The system is capable of 128-bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution for a full HD experience.

play station 3 80 GB metal gear solid 4 game pack
The play station 3 is great, the games are great & the back play for the play station 2 are fantasic. All of my old games work with no problems, the only set back was that you need to buy a plug in adapater to use your old memery card from the old play station 2 which was about .00. The play station 3 works with your CDS, DVDS, and BLU-Rays. This is the best game system made. I would buy this system again if needed.

The best option for a PS3
I took a long time trying to decide on what PS3 system to purchase. I wanted this MGS4 package because of its backwards compatibility, four USB cables, and memory card readers. It did not disappoint me at all and it has been running excellent from day one. It was a little more expensive but with the DualShock 3 controller and a copy of MGS4, it would be the same price to me if I had purchased it all separately. Get one while you can!

Well worth the wait!
Fortunetly for me I had a very good timing when i bought this superb console! At first I thought the PS3 was excessively expensive so i decided to wait, since I had my good ol reliable PS2 I still didnt have the crave for getting it up to when i saw this bundle specially for the game and controller which i should add it has the right weight and feel over the sixaxis and the game simply outrageously awesome a
good epilogue for such a great game. The console covers all my needs from ps2 compatability to storage and everything you get to expect from sony.
The only thing i could complain about is the hard drive capacity here is why
1. With just a couple of games installed its half full
2. If you get to download BD add ons it consumes another chunk
3. Pics, Music, Videos etc... you realize that 80 GB is really not that much
80 GB aint enough it really should be a bigger hard drive considering this things capabilities and the broadband connections nowadays

best ps3 ever
i hope you got this one while you could, its the best ps3 ever, plays ps1 and ps2 games, wireless internet, 80gig, extra usb ports, best ps3 ever, hands down. not to mention metal gear is a must have.

The Last Great PS3 Bundle
This is truely the last greatest PS3 bundle because 1) it comes with MGS4 and 2) It's the last PS3 80GB being actively sold that's backwards compatible. Though i put PS2 behind me, there were many games that I still have not played yet on that console that i really didn't want to switch between game systems to do, so getting this last PS3 with backwards compatibility was greatly essential.
Pros:
Great look
Nice sleek UI
Options to upload data, pics, music from flash drives (even PS3 update data)
Great game line up
Simple HDMI auto detect settings
Blue Ray .... nuff said
Able to Import your old PS2 game saves (need a memory card adapter but that part cost bucks)
PS2 games are upscaled to 1080p making them look great
Playstation Home (when released will be totally unreal)
Bluetooth technology makes controls really responsive
Free Online play
Built in Wireless, no need to buy extra parts
Cons:
The Price (the inflamed prices not the real cost of this system)
Current gen no longer backwards compatible (not this one though)
Depending on how far away you play from your console the USB charge cable could be too short at times
The nice looking glossy finish looks good but it's a dust magnent
Doesn't allow more that one PSN master account and deleting a master account seems to be missing from the options
Doesnt come with mic to communicate with players when playing online
Playing this console has been a great experience. I also own a 360 Elite and i must say i pretty much enjoy playing on my PS3. One thing Xbox has over Sony is the online aspect. I think PS3 Home will change that, allowing players to be more social and interact on a much larger scale. This is a really great bundle to get. One thing I really do not agree with is the inflamed prices that this particular console is being sold for. When it was first released the bundle costed 0. Because this bundle is rare retailers are tacking on an additional 0 - 0 just for kicks and i think that's truley just done out of pure greed. If you cannot find a descent retailer setting this bundle for the "real" price, make getting it at this "adjusted" prices your last ditch desperate effort because the 0 bucks you'd be saving could be spent on games and accessories.
